Recently the 59.5 carat Pink Star Diamond set an auction house record!
Billed as “the most valuable diamond ever to come to auction,” the 59.6-carat Pink Star lived up to its hype by selling for a world record price of more than $83 million at Sotheby’s Geneva Magnificent Jewels in November.
The diamond was introduced prior to the bidding as “one of the most remarkable gems ever to appear at auction.”
Some rich guy bought it.

Engagement rings with color that aren’t that heavy, one that won’t ruin your back or blind you accidentally, can be had for a fraction of 83 million. Actually a fraction of a fraction of 83 million. You’ll have enough money left to go out to dinner and celebrate the engagement!

At Pyramid Studios Diamonds and Sapphires are our first choice for colored stone engagement rings. We love their strength and vibrancy of color. Sapphires, rating a 9.0on the Mohs’ scale, are second only to diamonds for hardness. They can withstand the day to day trials engagement rings must endure.
Sapphire’s have been one of the most popular gemstones throughout the ages, especially as an engagement ring, but it recently had royal surge in popularity because of the Princess Diana/Kate Middleton Ring.
Over the past 10 years we’ve found increasing call from clients for diamonds of color, sapphire and other gems as alternative stones to the traditional white diamond and our stock of instore and online selection of engagement rings with stones of color increases every year. Our motto has always been “your ring, your way” and custom design is what Pyramid Studios is famous for – working with the customer and building their dream
