The cost of home heating oil in Maine held steady last week at an average of $3.53 per gallon, while propane costs continued to rise, up three cents from last week and nine cents from late October, according to the Governor’s Energy Office.
“Mainers are painfully aware of the fact that our population pays some of the highest heating costs in the country, which burdens our economy and undermines finite household budgets,” says Patrick Woodcock, Director of the Governor’s Energy Office. Woodcock praised new rebate and loan programs from Efficiency Maine for helping homeowners lower these heating costs for the long-term.
