A Chevy Truck or GMC Truck? A Closer Look at Chevy
This may very well be an argument that will last until the end of time –[MEC1] . And even then it may not end. We’re talking about the age old discussion of when it comes to truck purchasing or leasing, which side of the GM camp do you land on? A Chevy Silverado or a GMC Sierra? We’re going to look at both, but our main focus in this post will be on Chevy.
The first bit of advice we can pass along is to take a serious look as to why you are purchasing or leasing either one of these trucks. The three main reasons should always be the following: Which truck will best meet your needs, budget and utility?
GM has helped the consumer out quite a bit for the 2014 model year in making these decisions. For the first time in several years, there are numerous differences between these trucks and it’s more than just cosmetic. Both trucks will now have their own unique front and rear fascia’s.
While the Chevy Silverado is targeted more towards the mass-market, it has several advantages going for it for commercial buyers. The Silverado is still the best selling truck on the road. What those sales numbers means to you is, greater parts availability down the road, while remaining extremely price competitive. If you are looking to purchase a “basic work truck” without all the bells and whistles, the Silverado would work very well for you as well as your budget. Many consumers also like the “tougher, more aggressive look” of the Silverado. If that’s a major consideration, then put a big check mark for Chevy.
If you’re looking beyond the basic truck scenario, there are a decent array of packages that we can put together for you. Engines that range from an economical V-6, all the way up to the torque filled 6.0[MEC2] V-8. We realize that new vehicle shopping can be a little intimidating, but it doesn’t have to be. The best thing to do is to write down what you are looking for, truly looking for, in a truck. Next, take the next step – look at the truck, sit in the truck, drive the truck. Then, talk to your Varney Chevy sales representative who can work with you and get you the best deal on a Silverado!
